I think I remember watching a program when I was young that had a guy demonstrating that (aside from having hollow bones, different proportions and other skeletal/anatomical adaptations like that) to be able to get off the ground a human would have to have massive chest muscles. He used a sheet of poster board held perpendicular to his chest to show just how much they’d stick out, and that image really stuck with me. Imagine having muscles as thick as the width of a poster.
